If They Came From Within: Talking to the Designers & Filmmakers
What happens when you ask a notable Canadian genre filmmaker for a movie title, tagline and synopsis for a Canuck horror film that doesn’t actually exist, and then give that creation to an equally genre-obsessed Canuck poster designer? You get If They Came From Within: An Alternative History of Canadian Horror, the art show premiering at this year’s Fantasia Film Festival. Meet some of the filmmakers and designers behind the exhibit, as they talk about dreaming up Maple Syrup Horror Movies from another dimension, and what they tell us about both our country’s genre films, and our culture in general. Hosted by show curator and Rue Morgue magazine Editor-in-Chief Dave Alexander. Panelists include Rodrigo Gudino, Maurice Devereaux, “Ghoulish” Gary Pullin, Lee Demarbe, Rupert Bottenberg, whatisadam, Paige Reynolds and Justin Erickson.
